This herb-seasoned turkey breast requires no fussy preparation. The result is a moist, tender entrée that the whole family will love.
SLOW COOKER SIZE: LARGE
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 boneless turkey breast, about 3 pounds
1 medium onion, cut into wedges
2 celery stalks, cut into large pieces
1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon dried sage, crumbled
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ cup water
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1.Rub the sides and bottom of the stoneware with 1 tablespoon of the olive oil.
2.Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the turkey and brown well on all sides, 8 to 12 minutes.
3.Place the onion and celery in the slow cooker. Place the turkey on top. In a small bowl, combine the garlic, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle the seasonings over the turkey breast.
4.Pour the water around the turkey. Pour the melted butter on top of the seasonings. Cover and cook on Low for 7 to 9 hours.
