Country Ribs with Sauerkraut
This is a simple dish to pop into the slow cooker before your busy day begins. The sauerkraut adds another dimension of flavor, plus plenty of vitamin C.
SLOW COOKER SIZE: MEDIUM
1 tablespoon canola oil
1½ pounds country-style pork ribs
Salt and pepper
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
½ cup chicken broth
2 cups sauerkraut, drained of excess liquid
1.Rub the sides and bottom of the stoneware with the canola oil.
2.Place the ribs into the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the ribs evenly with caraway seeds. Pour the chicken broth over the ribs and top with the sauerkraut.
3.Cover and cook on Low for 5 to 7 hours.
