Maple syrup with Brussels sprouts? Now that’s an idea I can get behind. These are salty and sweet and will even have your kids asking for seconds.
INGREDIENTS
•2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
•8 slices bacon, chopped
•¼ cup sugar-free maple syrup
•2 tablespoons avocado oil or olive oil
•½ teaspoon sea salt
•½ teaspoon ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
2. Put all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and toss to coat.
3. Arrange everything in a single layer across a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, toss, and then bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, until the Brussels sprouts are caramelized and tender and the bacon is crispy.
tip: If you do not have sugar-free maple syrup on hand, you can also use a maple smoked bacon.
