This recipe is for a very large amount. I suggest that if you are going to go to the trouble of making it, do a huge batch and then store any extra in the freezer in individual packages. Bone broth has many health and healing benefits.
INGREDIENTS:
• 2 oz. roasted garlic
• 10 oz. roasted organic red onions
• 1 oz. coconut oil
• 4.5 gallons filtered water
• 22 oz. tomato paste (from glass jar)
• 2 pounds organic chicken backbones
• 16 oz. organic tomato pulp
• 6 oz. Celtic sea salt
• 1 oz. fresh ground black pepper
Optional:
• 2 to 4 oz. rosemary (enhances calcium extraction)
• 4 oz organic cilantro with stems (good source of potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, and vitamin A and K)
• 4 oz organic oregano (good source of potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, and vitamin C)
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a huge pot, roast onions and garlic in oil for 15 to 20 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients to the pot.
2. Let simmer over low heat for 2 to 3 days. The longer you cook it, the more nutrients are extracted from the bones, and the darker and thicker the broth will be. It makes 5 gallons.
