For the Meatloaf:

• Ground Turkey: 32 oz (907 g)
• Shredded Cheddar Cheese: 4.0 oz (113 g)
• Large Egg: 1.0 (approx. 2.0 oz or 57 g)
• Sugar-Free BBQ Sauce: 2.0 oz (57 g)
• Dried Minced Onion: 1 tablespoon (approx. 0.3 oz or 8.5 g)
• Dried Garlic: 1 teaspoon (approx. 0.1 oz or 3 g)
• Garlic Powder: 1 teaspoon (approx. 0.1 oz or 3 g)
• Chili Powder: 1 teaspoon (approx. 0.1 oz or 3 g)
• Ground Mustard Powder: 1 teaspoon (approx. 0.1 oz or 3 g)
• Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Topping:

• Sugar-Free BBQ Sauce: 2.0 oz (57 g)
• Cooked Bacon Slices: 5.0 slices (approx. 1.75 oz or 50 g, crumbled)
• Shredded Cheddar Cheese: 2.0 oz (57 g)

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 400∘F (205∘C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) casserole dish or a standard loaf pan.
2. Combine Meatloaf Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the 32 oz (907 g) of ground turkey, 4.0 oz (113 g) of shredded cheddar cheese, egg, 2.0 oz (57 g) of BBQ sauce, dried onion, dried garlic, garlic powder, chili powder, and ground mustard. Season with salt and pepper. Gently mix with your hands until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat to ensure a tender meatloaf.
3. Shape the Loaf: Transfer the mixture to your prepared dish and shape it into a uniform loaf.
4. Add Toppings: Spread the remaining 2.0 oz (57 g) of BBQ sauce evenly over the top of the loaf. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the sauce, followed by the final 2.0 oz (57 g) of shredded cheddar cheese.
5. Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165∘F (74∘C) on a meat thermometer.
6. Rest and Serve: Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to settle, keeping the loaf moist. Slice and serve warm.

Chef’s Tips

• Don’t Overmix: Overworking the ground turkey can result in a tough, dense meatloaf. Mix only until the ingredients are incorporated.
• Weigh for Accuracy: Using a kitchen scale for ingredients like cheese and sauces ensures the most accurate and repeatable results.
• Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
